  Trying to see Dr. Kelt is sort of like trying to see the Pope. In fact, you might have better luck seeing the Pope.
  
  Dr. Peter Kelt, however, is a pretty good doctor. Great bedside manner and he's good when you have an emergency, but scheduling an appointment is sometimes difficult. His office prefers to set-up appointments in the morning or early afternoon. They close early. Usually at 4 PM. I prefer an appointment later in the day. Usually 4 PM or later. So this doesn't work for me. And sometimes a minor emergency occurs in the afternoon. If this occurs after 4 PM, you need to go to the Hospital Emergency Room in Greenport with a significantly higher medical copay.
  
  ...not to mention the inconvenience of taking a ferry to Greenport. You know how it is on Shelter Island. For those of you who don't know Shelter Island, you need to take a ferry every single time you leave the island.
  
  The plus side is that Dr. Kelt will draw blood (for bloodwork) in his office. Some doctors will require you to go elsewhere -- such as Labcorp or Enzo Labs -- for bloodwork, but Dr. Kelt will draw it himself and send it out.
  
  Anyway, if you're a new patient, Dr. Kelt is NOT seeing new patients anyway. You have to see Dr. Barbara Phillips-Cole instead. They are both located in the same office, but I've never seen her, so I can't comment on her except that I prefer a male doctor. Just my preference.
